Topic: little console app to add 3s pregap style to dreamcast foreign bin (3 replies, posted in General discussion)
Hi everyone !
I decided to write a little program that compute the first 225 sectors of dreamcast data bin file (last data track when layout is non-3 track).
It help me to dump with other method than the SH-D162 drive.
So, for gd-rom with more than 3 track (data track with 3 second pregap), it can take file from DC sdrip or d*mpcast and add the missing information.
It does nothing than that (for now).
If you have any interest in use it ...
See ya !

1st try :
Buggy Heat dump on Gigarec 1.4x with a compatible cue (2nd session at lba 45000 using REM SESSION 2)
Burn with imgburn : OK (mode SAO !? so there is a empty burned space between 2 sessions)
DC : bad, can't read support.

SDRip : Still no news from he, he says me that parallel ripper (from him) have option to dump entire hd part in 1 file but I didn't have it for testing.
I've got several question about dreamcast dumping :
I've got several undumped games. I'm trying to do all I can to dump them but sometimes, ripping from SH-D162D gave a fews ice errors (sometimes on audio track (for games I can compare to redump)), sometimes on data tracks).
I have done with success modification on audio tracks from sdrip to be according to redump.
So : Can I add to redump database games that aren't fully dumped by SH-D162D (if I do the dump 3 or 4 times from sdrip corrected and SH-D162D) ?

Hi, I'm wondering if someone could write me a CUE file (multi session compatible with isobuster or cdrwin) to test burning gigarec cd.
I have a dump of HDR-0001 Sonic Adventure to test.
And, even better, did someone know a tool for convert those multi session CUE to another format like cdi or nrg.

Jackal : I search on google md5 or sha1 but without succes.
Rocknroms : yes, there is nothing to correct to extact match with DB.

Re: Dreamcast/NAOMI GD-ROM dumping instructions (54 replies, posted in General discussion)
The SD method can rip first and second session tracks, both audio and data.
(Data in bin, audio in raw)
All games match, except floigan brother and SonicAdv2 : I try to dump floigan about 8 times, always the same hash (on different sd card) and the game was purshased on 2008 and factory sealed.
Otherwise nothing have to be manually fixed to match with your DB (for others games I've try).

I have this adapter !
I dump several game with it, all except 2 games (for now) are identical to your Db.. But I suspect bad sectors into SD card.

Re: Weird thing when researching GDI images? (4 replies, posted in General discussion)
Hi !
I did some research in this way too.
Several year ago, I burn some test image to verify compatibility of gigarec for dreamcast : none of them are working.
To my mind, there is a possibility to burn recognized gigarec disk, but we have to know some facts :
Gigarec 1.4X is depreciated from plextor, at the launch of the premium, manufacturer says me that this coef are not reliable ; it was delete from write option in the final firmware.
Perhaps we could try burn DAO 1.3X Gigarec for the two session into a 100 min cd
If we can try something together, it will be nice ^^
I own all plextor drive since the old PX-32 to PX-760, except the premium2 and plexeraser.
I look a way to create valid cdi image from gdi, but I didn't fin anything for now…
Doing this with the old cdrecord in "session at once" cause plextor to burn in gigarec the two session, but there is a empty space between them (the start position of the second session was calculated without the gigarec setting).
