Pregaps are set in subchannels, if the subchannels say 2.03, it's 2.03, regardless of the data.

comradesean wrote:

That's 176400 bytes or 75 sectors of garbage data that DIC has included in it's dump that is empty bytes in EAC's output.

EAC can only generate the post-datatrack subchannels, it never reads them. This tool was designed to copy the music tracks, not to dump the entire discs.

I'd like to add that it's often hard to work with the "old asian friends" due to their refusal of sharing anything even when the dump is unusual (and, for example, IBM PC dumps are often 'unusual') and needs some thorough examination.

Dumps without any ring info whatsoever makes up about 90% of the PlayStation 1 list due to the dark CD backs (you need a flashlight to be able to read them).

I think there's a difference between the proper PSX dumps provided by the dumpers and the random scene isos.

Really? but I don't know because the bin data doesn't exist. It seems that TOC-PREGAP.bin is all 'data' sector.

https://www.sendspace.com/file/j53q0i -- 1st track only, because 2nd track matches t**rip and should be good.

The size of the lead-out sector of the 1st session + the size of the lead-in sector of the 2nd session = 11,400 sector (=26 812 800 bytes)
I realize that the lead-out and lead-in sector is important for raw dumping. But these sector can't be dumped all (=be dumped only partly).
In case of my plextor drive, this can dump the lead-out only the 100 sector and the lead-in about the 2000 - 3000 sector (readable size of the lead-in is different every time).

I've thought the lead-out limit only applies to the last session? If you look into the subdump dump log, it dumped the whole lead-out fine, failed in the beginning of the 2nd session. And the DIC splitted tracks have all the sectors, 1st track is 28 915 488 bytes, 2nd track is 741 724 368 bytes, 770 639 856 bytes total, while img and scm files are 743 827 056 bytes each, why is the split tracks dump complete and both single file dumps (and the sub) are not?

1) Track 1 + Track 2 total size is 770 639 856 bytes, that's OK. But why img and scr files for the same dump are 743 827 056 bytes each? I've thought DIC dumps to scr first, then descrambles to img, then splits the tracks, no? If the scr and img dumps are missing 26 812 800 bytes, how could these missing bytes appear in the split tracks? Same for the sub file, after 00 13 68 (last sector of the 1st track before lead-out) it goes 02 45 69 (1st sector of the 2nd session), the lead-out is omitted from combined images, that's very wrong, IMO. At least the .scr dump should be as raw as possible in this case and contain all the sectors.
I don't have any multisession disc nearby, but if you dump a multisession disc with IsoBuster, does it include the 1st session lead-out sectors into the image or not?
2) Cue says "TRACK 01 AUDIO", why is its contents descrambled, then?
3) Since it's a multisession image, where's "REM LEADOUT 00:13:69" in the cue? where's "REM SESSION 02"?

EAN sectors are used for protection. And DIC was unable to detect/decode the tracks layout properly, check the TOC.

Well, I've renamed them according to the front covers, hovewer, most of them aren't constant if to compare with spines and title screens.
Append 3rdMix says "Beat Mania" on both the cover and spine, however, OST disc (the one bundled with 3rdMix Mini) front cover clearly says "Beatmania" - http://www.discogs.com/Various-Beatmani … ase/696672
Append 4thMix says "Beatmania" on the front cover, but "Beat Mania" on the spine and CD front - http://ns348841.ip-91-121-109.eu/psxdat … 45419.html
Append 5thMix - same as above - http://ns348841.ip-91-121-109.eu/psxdat … 86322.html
Dreams Come True - "Beatmania" on the front cover, "Beat Mania" on the spine and the title screen - http://ns348841.ip-91-121-109.eu/psxdat … 86597.html
Best Hits - "Beatmania" on the front cover, "Beat Mania" on the spine
GottaMix 2 - "Beat Mania" on the front cover, "Beatmania" on the spine
PAL version says "Beat Mania" on the front, but "Beatmania" on the sides and back - http://ns348841.ip-91-121-109.eu/psxdat … 02096.html

Should always be "as is". As for the casing:

The Official No-Intro Convention (20071030) wrote:

2.1.3 Capitalization

Generally all common names, adjectives and verbs should be uppercased.
Articles and link words should be lowercased except when first word.

Examples: Adventure of the Hero, Riding in a Car, Travel from Earth to the
Moon, From Earth..., Into the Darkness...

The official title written by the publisher or developer can be used as a
reference including related titles from other media (movie titles). Some titles
also have an unusual capitalization on purpose. In that case, capitalization
should be left as intended.

Example 1: RoboCop (= Roboter + Cop)
Example 2: Sonic The Hedgehog is all uppercase: "The" is his middle name,
not an article.

However titles that are entirely capitalized should be highly avoided except if
the title is an acronym!

As for the Tsukuru/Tkool, I don't really understand it. If the English word "Tkool" existed, yes, "Tsukuru" would be a Japanese writing of the word Tkool and we would use the original word instead of "Tsukuru". However, this word exists only in Japanese, so I don't understand why some sources use the "Tkool" romanization (very common when mentioning the Japanese version of RPG Maker - "RPG Tkool" instead of the more obvious "RPG Tsukuru"). Could someone explain me, why it should be "Tkool"? smile

Btw, I will be very appreciated to gorelord4e if he won't touch Japanese titles in the future smile
