You don't need any specific tools. Take IsoBuster and try to open the next sector after the lead-out (in the "Sector View").

What's different concretely? I'm thinking 0xbe subch:0x04(a.k.a pack) vs. 0xd8 subch:0x02 is same except a random error and 0xbe subch:0x01(a.k.a raw) vs. 0xd8 subch:0x08 is same except a random error.

1) CD+G subs are completely different if dumped in 0xD8 mode (R-W channels are in some weird format in this case and the data is unusable).
2) If I've understood Jackal correctly, Securom sectors are replaced with the neighbour (twin) sectors if dumped in 0xD8 mode. Doesn't affect Libcrypt sectors as far as I know.

And have you tried your Plextor again with the "/s 0" option recommended above?

Dunno, post the dump results for a few games (.dat, .sub, .ccd, .cue and all the .txt files) along with the ringcodes for the discs.

Yes, audio only disc is forcibly set 0xbe, for I'm thinking there is no difference in the outputted data. I'll fix it If I'm wrong.

Why not to let the user decide? At least the subs obviously differ between 0xbe and 0xd8 modes.

Are you sure DIC uses exactly the pack mode and not the raw subs mode? Haven't tried yet (need to dig my 2 cd+gs for that), just asking.

I'd recommend PerfectRip with its 100b packed mode for subs, it enables Plextor's internal error correction for CD+G and you get the constant sub dumps with it.

But it should be possible to detect the offset with some other tools and force it in DIC instead of auto-detection, correct?

Very interesting. http://forum.redump.org/post/54259/#p54259 -- he says DIC works for his Plextor, but works very slow, should he also try to use /s 0?

About Dreamcast: why does DIC only save .sub for the SD area, but not for the HD area?

Well, it seems it only saves the .sub part for the SD zone, but not for HD :-( Will try to ask sarami to add the .sub reading/decoding for the HD part as well (it's in the same format, the only difference is a slightly different MSF/AMSF encoding after the 99:59:74 point).

I've thought "psxt001z.exe --fix" should never be used?

Last November 17, the server HDD failed and our hoster apparently provided zero effort in recovering any data. Daily backups were still on the same HDD, so the last backup that was in possession of the admins was from November 3.

Only RSS data in public RSS readers has survived after the 3rd November, so, what wasn't in RSS is lost. And I wasn't able to find the RSS data with the forum posts for that period, so, no luck there, either.

My final output has to be in Clone CD format for compatibility with the rhea device.

When I search for Saturn the old guide which did not mention DIC was the only thing I could find.

Both PerfectRip and DIC support CloneCD format, so there was/is no point in using Clone CD at all (except certain protected PC games maybe). Also it's just a format, you can convert any Redump dump (or any other random dump in any other format) into the Clone CD format without any loss.

You've ignored the reply, btw.

A Murder of Crows wrote:

PM sent.  So far i was able to make a clonecd image of Eyeful Home as that disc went back to california this past week.

I don't think the clonecd image has any use for us, since the audio there is definetely cut from the end due to lack of the offset correction. If you were in such a hurry, you could either follow the old guide or to run DIC without any additional parameters (it has a built-in help to figure out the basic commands). Of course, if you have a proper drive (you haven't even mentioned the drive(s) you were trying to use).

You should start with a DIC dump of something. EAC isn't needed, PerfectRip is ok as an additional verification, but not mandatory. Clone CD sub is useless, we use own tool to dump the subs. Ringcode scans would be nice (though, scans don't always have the ring text visible, in that case the photos would be nice). Revisions are on the ringcodes, not in the headers. No "EXE Date" for Saturn, "Build date" instead (from header, yes). Titles/barcodes can be found on satakore.com, unless you have something very special (try to amaze me via PM in that case, I'm pretty familiar with the entire Saturn library and the rarity of each release).

Any lead-in/1st_pregap extracting experts here?
http://redump.org/disc/39873/

The data just differs between the pregap extracted using the -5000 to -1000 range and the -75 to -1 and further range.

I don't remember any issues with dumping the pregap for http://redump.org/disc/6695/, so I'm puzzled here.
