Hello,
I dumped the HD area of The maze of the kings. I am waiting to buy a CD / DVD player to dump the LD area but I have some doubts:
How can I check that I have dumped the HD area correctly?
I hang the resulting file for you to check:
https://we.tl/t-WZjY43qN62
Once the HD and LD areas are dumped, how do I combine them to be able to play the game with Demul or Reicast?
The CD/DVD drives to dump the LD area are very expensive. Does anyone know if there is a cheaper way to do the dump? For example, a Sega Naomi GD ROM Drive Reader:
https://www.ebay.es/itm/173186183009
Thank you!
I think we'd all be fascinated to know if a GD Rom drive could properly dump for HD area, does a regular computer have the capacity to recognize it? This could open doors for properly dumping GD-Rs. Would love to see some tests if we can figure out how to hook it up to a Windows computer. Though it's unlikely to have the same full feature set as a plextor for dumping LD area.
HD area - if the hashes match what's in redump it's dumped correctly.
LD drives - you can often snag a compatible plextor for 40-60$ I'd you're patient.
I don't know how to compare the hashes. I attach files resulting from the dump:
https://we.tl/t-JF1g54m6xO
I have seen some models that download the LD area but they are very expensive. Which one do you advise me specifically and which website can I look at? Look on eBay but they are very expensive.

>I don't know how to compare the hashes.
No problem, you'll want to download an app like HashCalc (free) https://www.slavasoft.com/zip/hashcalc.zip
Then you drag+drop your Track 03.bin file into HashCalc. At redump we record MD5, SHA1, and CRC32 types of hashes (as seen on the disc pages). Here's how these values display in HashCalc for Track 03.bin https://drive.google.com/file/d/11OqPZz … sp=sharing
When you visit the Maze of Kings entry, you'll see that these hash values from your Track 03.bin for the HD track match the one in redump - http://redump.org/disc/69439/ - which means the dump was a success! Nice work
>we transfer link
We don't post .bin download files on this forum as they contain game data and that could cause trouble with the internet police. We just post the data from the dump (such as hashes, ring codes etc) as seen here: http://forum.redump.org/topic/22129/addeddc-x1/
>I have seen some models that download the LD area but they are very expensive. Which one do you advise me specifically and which website can I look at? Look on eBay but they are very expensive.
The method I use is to search "Plextor" then sort by Lowest Price (incl Shipping), then go down the list to see if the models are compatible. Yes it might take a couple weeks of searching. Really any of these plextors are fine: http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … F_CD-Audio
Depending on your country there might be other online shops that have Plextors as well.
IDE Plextors tend to be more common than SATA plextors so you might need to snag an adapter. Note about IDE Plextors (from the wiki): IDE models can be used on a Laptop with a USB Adapter (search "UGREEN USB to IDE Converter, USB 3.0 to IDE" OR "Kingwin IDE to USB" on Amazon - do NOT buy a cheap crappy Chinese adapter), a Desktop tower with a cheap card, or a 5.25" IDE USB enclosure (can be found on eBay or similar, but supply might be scarce).
I'm happy, I managed to dump the HD area, which is the hardest part.
I just need to get to dump the LD area.
How can I register for a Redump Forum account? I made the post from the link http://forum.redump.org/new/topic/13/ but when trying to see the link you mention http://forum.redump.org/topic/22129/addeddc-x1/ I did not lets see anything.
Once the HD and LD areas are dumped, how do I combine them to be able to play the game with Demul or Reicast?
Thank you very much for your help.
I'm stuck. Could you help me please?
Thank you.
Admin will have to help you finish registration.
Reicast should support redump cues. So download the cue file from the redump page for that title and make sure you name the tracks as they are listed in the cue file (cues can be opened with any text editor).
You mean the Sega Naomi> Cuesheets file on this website?
http://redump.org/downloads/
I unzip the file Arcade-Sega-Naomi-Cuesheets(27)(2021-11-10 21-30-52).zip and open the file Maze of the Kings,The(World)(En,Ja).cue with the Pad of notes and this is the content:
REM SINGLE-DENSITY AREA
FILE "Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 1).bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 2).bin" BINARY
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 00 00:00:00
INDEX 01 00:02:00
REM HIGH-DENSITY AREA
FILE "Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 3).bin" BINARY
TRACK 03 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
I understand that from the HD area, the extracted file Track 03.bin I have to rename it as Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 3).bin
Regarding the LD area, the extracted file Track 1 (I do not know the exact name, since I have not yet dumped the LD area) I have to rename it as Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 1).bin
and Track 2 (I don't know the exact name, since I haven't dumped the LD area yet) I have to rename it as Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 2).bin
(I have gotten someone who has a Plextor PX-W4012A and they will dump the LD area for me. For now, I'll just rename the HD area file and as soon as I dump the LD area, I will rename the other files)
It is right?
Once this is done, how do I combine the three files Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 1).bin, Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 2).bin and Maze of the Kings, The (World) (En,Ja) (Track 3).bin?
Thanks!
In the Flycast emulator, The Maze of the Kings rom has a .dat extension.
I have tried to unzip it with 7-zip, but it won't allow it.
Can you help me in the last step?
Thank you and forgive the insistence but I almost have it.
All the best!
Hello,
I already dumped the LD area and renamed the files track 01, track 02 and track 03.
What would be the next step to be able to create the rom and play in Demul or Flycast?
Without that step, everything I've done above won't do any good.
Thank you.
Demul won't play redump roms.
I think flycast does. You just open the .cue file with the app, you don't combine the bins into any other file. Leave the cue and bins in the same directory and open the cue file with flycast.
I attach the 3 tracks and the .cue file to see if you can review and test it:
I have tried to load it from the cue in Flycast but it doesn't work.
Thanks!

I'm not sure because I don't use flycast, you should probably ask them for help as this isn't a Flycast support forum. And you should not be posting roms here, it is against website rules.
Sorry about posting the rom, I didn't remember.
When comparing the hashes of the track 1 and track 2 of the LD area with those of the Arcade - Sega - Naomi - Datfile (27) (2021-11-10 21-30-52).dat, they do not match. I do not understand why? I did the dump with the best drive, the PX-W4012A. On the wiki.redump.org website he makes the comment (Best drive to dump with, reads errors better). It did the dump at 100% and gave no errors.
These are the hashes of the Arcade - Sega - Naomi - Datfile (27) (2021-11-10 21-30-52).dat:

For your experience in dumps. Is it possible that the hashes don't match and the dump is correct?
I attach the 3 tracks and the .cue file to see if you can review and test it:
_
I have tried to load it from the cue in Flycast but it doesn't work.
Thanks!
I have already been able to check the hashes of the LD area at http://redump.org/disc/69439/ and they are correct.
I have posted on insertmorecoins.es to run the ROM on Flycast.
Thanks for everything!
Hello,
I made the query in insertmorecoins.es but they have not been able to find the following problem:
I have dumped the HD and LD area and later checked the hashes, which were correct.
They told me that apart from the GD-ROM, the board of The maze of the Kings has a chip with game information, which also has to dump the information.
I combined my HD and LD area dump files, converted to chd (gds-0022.chd) with the .zip file (mok.zip, the motherboard dump file, not the GD-ROM) downloaded from the internet in order to run the game on Flycast but I get the following error:
ERROR 01 THIS GAME IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BY MAIN BOARD
What can it be if the dump is done correctly, since the hashes coincide and the mok.zip file downloaded from the Internet, works for me with another gds-0022.chd also downloaded from the Internet?
Can you help me please?
I am in the last phase and after all the effort I made, I would like to make it work.
Thank you.
They won't work as PC drives, they have a proprietary interface, no drivers for them exist (Linux has something skeleton, iirc, but that's all).
