iR0b0t: we need a new system for that.
I can add ALL disc-based systems you know, nobody will be confused by unused once, as they can be hidden from new discs list.
Just give me all the required information for each particular system:
CD- and/or DVD-based ?
Layers possibility (1 or 2)
Full system title
System alias (ex. PSX etc.)
EXE/Build date field required?
FS ISO9660 or not ?
BCA field required?
Header field required? If yes, header offset 0 or not?
A very preliminary list:
Amiga CD32-based (CD):
Amiga CUBO CD32 -- also the Laser Gate 2 version, but I don't think these should be split
American Laser Games 3DO -- haven't seen the official system name
Atari 3DO -- haven't seen the official system name
CD-i based (CD):
New Jatre CD-i -- haven't seen the official system name
Nichibutsu Super CD -- haven't seen the official system name
Konami M2 -- console entry also needed, protos and kiosk discs exist
This one is tricky to list, while these systems usually work with HDDs, many of them have system restore or installation CDs/DVDs.
Atronic (CD) -- the system itself isn't PC-based, but the configuration soft is for PC and comes on CDs
AUSCOM System 1 (CD)
Bally Game Magic (CD)
Global VR Vortek (CD)
Global VR Vortek V3 (DVD?)
ICE PC-based hardware (DVD) -- haven't seen the official system name
Merit Industries Boardwalk (unsure)
Merit Industries MegaTouch Aurora (unsure)
Merit Industries MegaTouch Force (CD+DVD)
Merit Industries MegaTouch ION (CD+DVD)
Merit Industries MegaTouch Maxx (DVD)
Merit Industries MegaTouch XL (CD)
Sega Europa-R (unsure)
Sega Nu (DVD)
Sega RingWide (DVD)
Tsunami TsuMo Multi-Game Motion System (CD)
Various Global VR titles (CD)
Various Incredible Technologies PC-based systems (CD+DVD)
Various Konami PC-based systems (CD+DVD)
Various PhotoPlay PC-based systems (CD)
Various Raw Thrills PC-based systems (DVD)
Konami Twinkle -- data CDs [ADDED], Video CDs, DVD-Videos
Konami Python (unsure, only CF and HDD-based games confirmed to exist so far)
Konami Python 2 (unsure, only CF and HDD-based games confirmed to exist so far)
Namco/Capcom System 256/Super System 256
Namco System 357
Various Systems (CD):
Capcom CP System III
Nichibutsu High Rate System (MAME driver says "High Rate DVD hardware") -- seems to use UDF-formatted CDs, despite its name
Various Systems (Audio CD):
Sega System 32
Various Systems (DVD-Video):
Nichibutsu X-Rate System
Seibu CATS System (MAME driver says "Seibu CATS E-Touch Mahjong Series") -- DVD-SL+DVD-DL
Sega System 32
also uses normal Audio CDs - does it need a standalone section?
also uses Video CDs and DVD-Videos (SL) in standard format - do these need standalone sections?

NAOMI needs an additional CD-ROM media type.
And we need a Sega PC-based Arcade section (no details about the true system name so far) with a CD-ROM type, the settings can be taken from Konami e-Amusement CD.
"Playskool iON Educational Gaming System" section is needed (acronym "ION", settings are similar to VideoNow systems, all the tracks are marked as audio).
FM Towns section needs a "Marty Compatible" yes/no attribute. And probably also "IPL Sector" yes/no (to separate self-boot CDs from non-bootable ones).
could you rename "Hasbro VideoNow CD" from the New Disc menu to "Hasbro VideoNow PVD"? The discs are officially called PVDs = Personal Video Discs.
Microsoft Xbox DVD and Microsoft Xbox 360 DVD should be probably renamed to Microsoft Xbox Game Disc and Microsoft Xbox 360 Game Disc, similar to GC/Wii ones (which are also DVDs but aren't called so).
