Just wondering if this tag is really useful, or that maybe it would be better to replace it with the CRC checksum (also to original release)?
I'd rather have Re-Release or something else other than CRC, as CRC isn't foolproof, and also ugly as fuck. I would prefer some other kind of version tagging... discuss?
Yea.. Maybe use a shorter variant like we see on Saturn. Simply (RE) would do the trick. Remember that re-release has only been applied if there is no "name" for that new release. If the release has a different name like "The Command & Conquer Saga" or whathaveyou, then it's usually used instead of simply (Re-Release).
Also, a problem with a CRC tag pops up whenever you get more than 1 dump with similar hashes (especially data track hashes), just a couple audio tracks or all audio tracks different.

I guess it's a good tag as long as the PVD shows a newer date on the re-release (maybe there are more titles where we can replace the 2 crc values with a single Re-Release tag)..
ps. some small observations:
Command & Conquer - Red Alert 2 (USA) (Disc 1)
Command & Conquer - Red Alert 2 (USA) (Disc 1) (Allied Disc) (Re-Release)
Command & Conquer - Red Alert 2 (USA) (Disc 2)
Command & Conquer - Red Alert 2 (USA) (Disc 2) (Soviet Disc) (Re-Release)
original release is missing the disc title? is that correct? and it's also missing the PVD values.
Battlefield 2 (World) - please remove the serial, it seems useless: http://redump.org/disc/2565/
Unlock the Secrets: Blood also seems like useless 'serials'
Yeah many older dumps do not have PVD, I will get around to my dumps.
Will check the serials.
