I came here looking for some advice and thought maybe my experience could be helpful. I have a Buffalo BRXLPUS6U3B drive and I was hoping to flash it with Omnidrive to start dumping some my game console discs, like xbox360 for example. After some research, I flashed it with omnidrive which worked fine but it is still unable to read xbox360 drives. I get an error saying Xbox security file can't be read. According to the redump wiki, this is because the chipset in the enclosure blocks full read access.
So then I started searching for enclosures they have the proper chipset. Unfortunately every enclosure I found, and there are a lot, don't advertise what chipset they use. The one that kept coming up in searches was a Vantec nst-510s3-bk which is no longer manufactured and impossible to find for sale.
I was hoping to post here in hopes of someone who has been down this road and found an enclosure that works and has the proper chipset. Or maybe start a thread of compatible enclosures.
Frankly. I've been at this for a week now and not making any progress.
