While the main focus of redump is game-related media, our methods for preserving discs are absolutely applicable to other types of media including software applications, driver discs, etc. So generally speaking, we'd absolutely recommend MPF/Redumper as a great solution for preserving PC software and many discs, regardless of whether they are eligible for the redump project.
There may eventually be an established project for non-game media, and we already have members who are dumping discs for that type of project, using the typical redump process.
So in summary, we definitely recommend and encourage the use of MPF/Redumper (and associated hardware) for media preservation (beyond just games), if someone is willing to use those methods.
