I don't think it's that important. All the games are on the site already, and most have been verified by multiple people. I just thought that, since I was making dumps to use in my emulator anyway (I ended up using ImgBurn, which was good enough for that purpose), I might as well submit them here too.
For PS1 CDs, you are correct that only certain drives are compatible for redump. The full list is here:

Are you interested in getting some assistance with this? Either by loaning discs or having some help to get a compatible drive? If so, I can add your account and we can connect with you to assist.
Never mind. I think the drive I have isn't compatible with DiscImageCreator because there's a bunch of missing file errors when I try to dump with MPF.
