seems your connector is any better though  smile

I use CD-Bremse for that, but it only goes down to 4x. So I extract everything twice (usually in chunks of 50,000 or 100,000 sectors), or more often if I get inconsistent results. Worked pretty well so far, but it does take time smile

No idea about that thing's name, the packaging is long gone smile All I can say is that it's by a company named DeLock, and on bottom side there's a sticker that says "Ver:108B0".

We are trying to narrow down the needed hardware to be able to do this task.

I have tried on 3 Dells, 1 Compaq and 2 Frankenstein machines (A-Bit MB in one, not sure about the other). None of these have worked. All with fresh installs of XP Pro w/SP3. Any additional information that can be provided here would be great. Right now it is looking like the combo of an ASUS P4* mobo and the Liteon drive seems to work pretty well.
