As long as an Audio CD doesn't have more than 135 sectors worth of data in the pre-gap. Or disc has insane negative offset.

DVD's can still be dumped with pretty much anything. This just concerns CD's.

I think it is less about being associated with DIC or about active development, just that DIC does have three important differences with redumper:
1. Audio CD splits and write offset detection, which is why we only accept Audio CDs with redumper
2. There is a difference in how Redumper and DIC decide to descramble or not descramble certain invalid/unexpected data sectors. This only affects "edge cases", but it is important as some discs will not match redump hashes as a result (while the dump itself is fine, just post-processing is different). This is a design decision between the two programs, and we have decided to fix upon redumper's handling of it. DIC has changed how it handles different types of invalid/unexpected sectors over time.
3. For the new drives (Mediatek-based blu-ray drives), the leadout sectors are read using a cache read. DIC's current implementation of the cache read is prone to producing a bad dump, while redumper has fixed it (which is why these new drives have become acceptable for new dumps).

For Plextor dumps, DIC remains acceptable for dumps, with the above caveats. We therefore recommend using redumper as a "first step". In an ideal world, everyone could dump with both programs for self-verification, but we cannot force all dumpers to do this.

AFAIK DIC is also in active development, Sarami usually tries to fix things reported on github.
The features it lack should be related to extreme edge cases, otherwise there wouldn't be hundreds (thousands?) of discs that were dumped with DIC.
I don't have any issues with the fact that you guys prefer redumper over DIC, but only accepting verifications using DIC seems somewhat excessive. You're making it look like DIC has some sort of issue that makes its dumps faulty.

Redumper has features that DIC lack. Also the former is in active development by a current Redump Moderator, while we aren't closely associated with DIC's creator anymore.

Verifications of non-audio CDs using DIC are only accepted if done with a known eligible Plextor drive. Redumper (build 610 or later) is required for all other drives. Redumper is still preferred and encouraged in all cases.

2. The change in rules means that verifications of audio CDs are no longer restricted to good Plextor drives? Using only Redumper, of course.

The "New Dump & Verification Submissions" section includes drives that are confirmed eligible for both new discs and verifications.

The "Verification Submissions Only" section includes drives that are eligible for verifications, but not yet for new discs. Over time and with continued testing and research, more drives may become eligible for new discs. Please check the wiki page for the most current list.

As stated on the wiki, please remember, You must update the drives to the Required Firmware version and dump using Redumper build 610 or later (supported by MPF 3.3.2 or later).
