Ello,

I have a few games with LibCrypt protection; http://redump.org/disc/1177 for example..

I know that CloneCD captures the needed data (presumably subchannel data?) as I have made a 'perfect' (at least LibCrypt-wise) working copy of this particular original with CloneCD before. Doing a burn of the Redump image has the game freezing at arbitrary points (presumably LibCrypt doing it's nasty work).

So really what I'd like to know is; in the unlikely chance that both the original and the CloneCD copy are ever damaged beyond repair, is it possible to recreate a 1:1 physical copy using the Redump image and the LibCrypt information in the Redump database? I realise there are 'de-LibCrypt' patches for this, however that is obviously not 1:1 and very 'non-Redump' in spirit.

Cheers

Edit: And after reading http://redump.org/guide/libcrypt/, it seems I mostly have my answer; LibCrypt data is stored in Redump's SBI files. So the next question is; How's the work going on the new image format?

OR (and I might take a look at this when I get home); how different is a CloneCD SUB and a Redump SBI? Perhaps a conversion tool would be simpler than implementing a new image format?

Edit2: Topic with some good info about SBI's and a (hopefully) functional SBI2SUB tool; http://forum.redump.org/topic/4313/incl … n-the-dat/ (this themabus fellow seems like a borderline genius )
