I also need to know if a Plextor PX-800A is an acceptable model to work with DIC as all of my PS1 and some of my PS2 are CDs.

It is an OEM model and is actually the Optiarc AD-7170 which actually has a lot of firmware mods on Liggy and Dee's website.
